Lovers of independent films will celebrate the best in cinematic art, amid unparalleled scenic beauty, Feb. 20-27, 2011 in Sedona. The occasion is the 17th annual Sedona International Film Festival, named the “Fest to Impress” by MovieMaker Magazine. This year’s extravaganza promises to be bigger and better than ever — now expanded to eight days of cinematic excellence!
“We’ve now expanded the festival to eight days and added the new, state-of-the-art, 750-seat Sedona Performing Arts Center venue at the high school,” said Patrick Schweiss, executive director of the festival. “It is sure to be our biggest and best festival yet, with the easiest ticketing system, more film options, celebrities, filmmakers and more.”
Whether you want an all-access priority Platinum Pass (which includes all parties, films and events), a priority seating Gold Pass, or the flexibility of a 10- or 20-Pack Film Ticket Package, we have the perfect way for you to enjoy the festival. And again this year (back by popular demand): All passholders and Ticket package holders will be able to get their tickets for individual films prior to the start of the festival! No more long lines! No more early-morning ticket scrambles!

Already recognized by filmmakers and audiences as one of the top festivals in the nation, the 2011 edition will continue a tradition of honoring those whose love for making timely, moving films drives them. The festival honors filmmakers motivated by passion for their art, not box office revenues.
From comedy to tragedy, touching to entertaining, thought-provoking to inspiring, independent filmmakers take audiences on journeys to emotional and geographic places many have not visited. Screenings include feature narrative films, shorts, documentaries, foreign films and animation. More than 15 foreign countries are represented in the lineup at the festival.
Films will be shown at the festival’s central, host venue Harkins Sedona Six Theatres, in West Sedona, as well as the Sedona Performing Arts Center and Sedona Rouge Hotel. Workshops and discussions will take place at the Zaki Gordon Institute for Independent Filmmaking and Studio Live. In addition, Festival Central returns giving movie-lovers a place to gather, enjoy food and beverages and discuss films while rubbing elbows with the filmmakers and celebrity guests.
The festival also includes a family film series, a Sedona Green sustainable film series, “Docs that Make a Difference” series and more.
